Art of Noise

Status Quo are one of the latest bands to sign up for a £1million fundraising initiative that is turning some of the world's greatest rock and pop music into stunning pieces of contemporary art.

Called Soundwaves, the artwork project aims to raise £1,000,000 pounds for charity within the next three years by translating music into customised canvasses to make an exclusive collection of original artwork.

Quo's hit, 'Caroline' has been added to the Soundwaves portfolio which - personalised by the band members to make a unique piece of fine art memorabilia - will be sold at auction in aid of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy - the UK's largest specialist music therapy charity which helps improve the quality of life for children and adults who have been isolated by disability, trauma or illness.

Other world class musicians who are taking part in Soundwaves include Pink Floyd's David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright; as well as Coldplay, George Michael, KT Tunstall, Snow Patrol, Westlife, Dido, and Joan Armatrading. A further 50 music artists are expected to join the project over the next three years.

While Quo's original personalised Soundwave canvas is expected to fetch up to £10,000 at auction later in the year, there are hand signed limited editions now on sale through www.soundwavesart.com

Soundwaves is the initiative of Epic Fine Art, who specialise in producing contemporary celebrity art for UK charities and partnerships.
